HAPARANDA. Fashion designer Marju Matsin in Haparanda likes to play with materials and design. The result can be stylish clothes with a twist, or something humorous that makes people happy. You can also find her in second hand or vintage shops looking for classy clothes, curtains, carpets or the like. If the stuff has quality, she thinks recycling is a sustainable and challenging way to create new fashion.
Last weekend Marju presented a new collection of summer clothes, made from linen. The pier in Nikkala harbour, outside Haparanda, was transformed into a catwalk. The models made a quick change, and showed a historical collection that Marju Matsin made for the 18th Century Mustaparta summer theatre last summer.
